Have you seen the Dan-y-Graig deer?

This might be a shock, but we have some surprising neighbours living in the surrounding woods at the upper areas of Dan-y-Graig, Porthcawl. They like to keep a low profile, but if you’re lucky you might spot the Dan-y-graig deer.

These remarkable photos were taken by a local resident as a deer bravely left its herd and stepped out of the woods onto the farmland located at the end of Dan-y-Graig Avenue. The deer quickly returned to it’s herd who could be heard calling the lone deer back to the safety of the woodland, but not before these photos were taken.

Local dog walkers have often reported sightings of the deer on the sand dunes surrounding the lower areas of Dan-y-Graig, there seems to be no photographic evidence as yet. Although, they have been caught on camera by birdwatchers at Ogmore Estuary.
