Danygraig residents might not be aware that the current bus service into Porthcawl town centre is to cease operating at the end of August. In a bid to save money, Bridgend County Borough Council voted to cut all subsidies for bus services, resulting in the Bus companies deciding to no longer operate certain routes in Bridgend.
However, a number of residents have fought for Bridgend County Borough Council to continue providing a bus service. They have succeeded in winning something of a victory in this fight as it has been announced that as of 2nd September 2019, an alternative bus service has been scheduled. The new bus service will be designated ‘Service 861’.
A group of Danygraig residents are encouraging other local residents to join them in making more use of the new service, because as the famous saying goes, “use it or lose it!” They are asking fellow residents to join them on a celebratory journey of the inaugural run of this service. Join in the fun on Monday 2nd September 2019, 9:10am from Chestnut Drive.
